What this site collects, and what it does not

Location and weather lookups

The planting calendar works from a place. You can search for a city, region, or postal code, or let the browser share your current location. Either way the coordinates go to this site's own planning endpoint and are passed on to the weather services that answer with a forecast, soil temperature, and, for U.S. places, National Weather Service alerts. The coordinate is used to build that plan; it is not saved to a database or attached to an account.

Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider may record the request itself, including the coordinates and the place label.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and the clicks that matter, such as a planting calendar button, and Microsoft Clarity to record session replays and click heatmaps. Both tools set their own cookies and receive the page you are on, details about your browser and device, and a rough location derived from your IP address.

Affiliate links

Some pages name garden tools and supplies and link to Amazon. Those links carry an Associates tag, so Amazon can tell that the visit came from this site and may pay a commission. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The cookies you may have after a visit come from the analytics tools described above and from Amazon if you follow a product link. Browser settings and tracking-protection extensions can block them, and nothing on the site stops working if they do.

What we do not collect

• No account, login, or saved garden profile.
• No email address unless you write to us first.
• No payment details: nothing on the site is sold directly.
• No photos or plant records uploaded by you.

Your choices

You can use the planting calendar by searching for a place instead of sharing your location, block analytics cookies in your browser, or turn on its tracking protection. If you have written to us and want the email deleted, say so in a reply and we will remove it.

Children

The site is written for adults planning a garden. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

The policy is updated whenever the site starts or stops using a service, so it keeps matching what the site actually does. The current version is the one that applies.
